Coachella Day 3

The last day of coachella was extremely chill. I think by now, we know the lay of the land. We picked up some souvenirs, ate some food, perused the sights. Me accompanied by Miss T went of to see Sia. Now I've missed seeing her live more than once. There were so many opportunities, and now I can see I missed out mucho. She's cute as a bug. She didn't perform Day to Soon which would had made me cry, but she did perform Breathe Me obviously and the waterworks flowed.

Off we went to boogie to the jungle beat of Modeselektor and stayed on for teeny bit of SMD. Then off to join the rest of the world on the other side of the moon. All i can say is, "Piggy come back!"

Coachella Day 2

On day 2, i missed MGMT. How sad, as usual the tent was packed to the brim, I caught the tail end of "Time to Pretend". I really really wanted to see them. I guess i should make sure my wishes are known a little sooner. Since i was there, I stayed on for Kate Nash, who i do like, but i think an open setting was not quite right for her. It was so hot anyways that i stayed under the shaded tent just to cool down. A- brought me some ibuprofen as a precautionary so i could enjoy the rest of the day.

Meanwhile, Miss T staked a spot during Cafe Tacvba and got us a sweet deal when DCFC came on. Is it just me or did Ben Gibbard lose some weight? He was a cutie today but i was disappointed with the set list. I guess in keeping with the rock vibe they made sure most songs were upbeat. Hadn't realized most of my favourite songs were the sad ones. I left A and Miss T at the Coachella stage to get up front and close for Kraftwerk while i wandered of to see Rilo Kiley. I was surprised at the crowd there! but either i missed my favourite song "Smoke Detector" or they didn't perform it. By the time i headed back to Kraftwerk, they were in full swing.

Now i'm not a few Kraftwerk fan. But the rest of the gang was definitely on a high. I tried to elbow my way to the front after to join them but seems like there was a huge crowd for Portishead which was sched-ed right after.

Highlight of day 2 was cutie pie Calvin Harris of course. He was so good! It's been almost a year since i've been wanting to see him in the US. I'm glad he had a fairly good crowd attending as well. I just wished i wore shorts instead of a dress. I couldn't jump up and down that much due my skirts flying about when i jumped. The night ended with me being a little pissy coz I was chasing the rest of the gang around. I guess i wanted to stay for Enter Shikari and was a little upset that i was running around for 1/2 hour instead of spending half an hour at the Mojave tent. They didn't attract much of a crowd though, which must have been hard. :(

Coachella Day 1

One problem in not blogging immediately is that you have a tendency to forget the events of the day. Day 1 at at coachella reminded me why i loved it so much, regardless of the line up for the next three days. In true coachella style- we were late for Black Kids and i managed to catch 1.5 songs perhaps, but at least i caught their hit.

Then we probably spent the next few hours acclimatizing ourselves to the heat, crowd and structures. One item folks probably went crazy for, including me were the Adam Freeland F balloons.

One thing i suppose you can count on is that as the line-up progresses, they get better. This was the first time i've seen The National live but i definitely felt the energy building as i slowly crept between the crowds.

Swell Season definitely attracted a different crowd at coachella. I'm so happy for their success. Glenn takes you on a roller coaster of emotions through his voice. At this point, this was my best show so far. Especially since i got decently close and he sang my favorite Kraftwerk song as a tribute.

I was just going to check out Pendulum to see whether i should catch them on my trip to London. A was waiting behind the F balloon in the tent- thank godness for F balloons which made great landmarks in the Sahara tent and i was able to locate him easily. Pendulum was absolutely fantastically rockin'! The rest of the night for me was spent just wandering around. I suppose i should have joined the rest of the crowd in the Sahara tent when Fat Boy Slim was there, but I guess it just wasn't my thing.

More not so random hotness

Off to a great start for a weekend of fun, sun and music. For Missy Sophie aka Brit Pop Stalker, this is one of 3 that she would be seeing Mr. Ashcroft. I do miss the disheveled locks, but he still has it! Awesome gig.
